The Prix Ars Electronica is one of the most important international competitions for creativity and a pioneering spirit in digital media art. The CYBER ARTS exhibition at the OÖ Kulturquartier presents a selection of prize-winning projects from three categories.
Music occupies the longest period of time in the history of computer creation. Started in 1987 as the category for Computer Music, the category DIGITAL MUSIC AND SOUND ART has changed in keeping with digital development. It now distinguishes contemporary digital sound production from the broad spectrum of electronically generated music, works combining sound, media and music, digital compositions ranging from electro-acoustic to experimental, and sound installations.
